Our day training sessions are a great way for your dog to receive the training they need in their familiar home environment. Your trainer will initially hold a private session with you and your dog in your home. Following that, further sessions will be scheduled and the trainer will work with your dog in your home while you’re at work or out of the home for the day. These sessions are ideal for busy professionals and families without the time to devote to training. They offer your pet the most hands-on work possible with our experienced trainers.
- Basic obedience
- Dog aggression
- Body handling
Day training sessions are not ideal for stranger-directed fear/aggression, separation anxiety, or house training. Please consider Private Training for these issues.
What to Expect
Each session will be held in your home or in another predetermined location. Initial sessions are two hours long and will include information and coaching from a trainer, as well as hands-on work with the trainer. They will discuss their training plans for the sessions with you. You will need to have a key available for the trainer to pick up during this session.
During each session, the trainer will work directly with your dog and leave you with a progress update and instructions to follow in between sessions. You will also have the opportunity to provide your trainer with video to review in between sessions so they can make sure you’re on the right track! Completing assigned homework and continued practice will be essential to success.
Transfer sessions will be scheduled following the day training sessions to ensure you have the knowledge and skills you need to continue moving forward with your pet. In these sessions, the trainer will transfer your dog’s new skills over to you. Additional transfer sessions may be necessary depending on the pet.
Choosing a Training Package
The amount of sessions you need will vary depending on the issues you’d like to work on and the level of support you prefer. Smaller packages are ideal for simple obedience and manners issues. Larger packages are a better choice if your dog needs to work through more complex obedience/manners training or you have several things you’d like to work on.
If you are trying to book a consultation for multiple dogs in the same household, please get in touch with us before registering to let us know what training your dogs need. This will help us get you set up in the right program for your pets.
Regardless of the training package you choose, at-home work and continued practice throughout your dog’s life will be essential to success.
